Training FAQs

Man in cowboy hat with a black dog on a leash outside a building.

Do you use prong collars, e-collars, or slip leads?

Yes. We use a variety of training tools, including prong collars, e-collars, slip leads, food, and toys. Tools are chosen based on the individual dog — not a one-size-fits-all system.

Are these tools safe and humane?

When used correctly, these tools are safe, effective, and allow for clear communication. They are always introduced thoughtfully, conditioned properly, and used at appropriate levels. We never use tools to intimidate, scare, or cause pain.

Is your training positive reinforcement?

We practice full-spectrum canine education. That means we don't believe in one-size-fits-all training or limiting our toolbox. We use high-value rewards (food, toys, and genuine praise) to teach new skills and create enthusiastic engagement. Once a dog clearly understands what is expected, we introduce fair, humane boundaries and training tools so they can navigate distractions, manage impulses, and stay reliable in real-world environments.

Will my dog be forced or corrected constantly?

No. Our goal is calm, clear communication — not constant correction. Most dogs respond best to structure, consistency, and guidance, not pressure.

What if I’m unsure about certain tools?

That’s completely okay. We take the time to explain our methods, demonstrate how tools are used, and make sure you’re comfortable and confident moving forward. Your dog’s success and your peace of mind matter.
